Pause
A Week of Haikus.
This week, I challenged myself to choose a single word and write one haiku each day inspired by it.
The word I chose: Pause.
It is something I have always struggled with. People often tell me to slow down, speak slower, and take a breath. Most of the time this makes me defensive, and I want to tell them to be quicker, listen faster, and save their breath by not giving unsolicited feedback.
This week, I tried to create a little space for stillness.
Here are my daily haikus.
Which one made you pause? Let me know in the comments—this is solicited feedback.
Saturday’s Haiku
Pause
I have no words now.
They will return tomorrow.
Today, I pause.
Sunday’s Haiku
Pause
No words needed now.
Just a breath, quiet and slow.
I am here, at rest.
Monday’s Haiku
Pause
Nothing to be said.
Only breath and gentle space.
This moment is enough.
Tuesday’s Haiku
Pause
I stop and soften.
No need to perform today.
Rest washes through me.
Wednesday’s Haiku
Pause
What if I stop now?
Afraid life may fade away.
Still, I trust the pause.
Thursday’s Haiku
Pause
Panic fills my chest.
Everything feels too much now.
I return to pause.
Friday’s Haiku
Pause
Trust feels fragile here.
Even in the rising panic,
I will rest in pause.
